By using Mealo, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Mealo is a nutrition tracking app that uses AI to help you log meals and track your food intake. You describe what you ate — by text, photo, or barcode — and Mealo figures out the nutrition. It is currently in beta.
When you log a meal, your input (text descriptions, photos of food or nutrition labels, barcodes) is sent to third-party AI providers — currently OpenAI and Google — to identify the food and estimate its nutritional content. Mealo also looks up nutrition data from public databases (USDA, OpenFoodFacts).
We send only what's needed to process your meal. We don't send your name, email, or profile to these providers. See our privacy policy for specifics on what data goes where.
Mealo lets you connect with friends and share meal data. When you accept a friend request, you choose what to share (meals, goals, weight, etc.). Your shared data is visible only to friends you've approved.
You own your data. We use it to provide the service. We don't sell it, we don't use it to train AI models, and we don't show you ads. See our privacy policy for the full picture.
Mealo is in beta. Things will break, features will change, and data might not always be perfect. We do our best, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service or 100% accurate nutrition data.
Nutrition data in Mealo comes from public databases and AI estimation. It's useful for general tracking but is provided as-is, with no guarantee of accuracy. Don't rely on Mealo for medical, clinical, or allergy-related decisions. It is not a substitute for professional dietary advice.
Use Mealo for personal nutrition tracking. Don't try to break it, reverse-engineer it, abuse the API, or use it for anything illegal.
You retain ownership of any content you submit (photos, descriptions, etc.). By using Mealo, you grant us a limited license to process this content solely to provide the service to you.
We aim to keep Mealo running, but we may need to take it down for maintenance or updates. We'll try to give notice when possible. We can also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Mealo is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, Useful Systems OÜ is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us (which, during beta, is nothing).
We may update these terms. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know through the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Tallinn, Estonia.
